Biographical informationYing Toon was born in August 1876 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in September 1897. He was the husband of Ivy Ying Toon.
He worked as a cabinet maker for See Wah & Co. from around 1904 through to the end of 1917. He had to stop work because of failing eyesight. He was residing at Murray Street, West Perth from 1916 to 1921.
In February 1918 he was charged with living off the proceeds of prostitution. He was sentenced to six months in Fremantle Prison.
