Biographical informationYick You was born in about June 1887 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in April 1903. He was five feet two and a half inches in height. He was the son of Ping Wing. His wife and children remained in China.

He was a partner in the Yang Lee Laundry, 328 Hay Street, Perth, in 1905. In 1913 and 1919 he was recorded as working in the American Laundry, 48 Stirling Street, Perth.
