Biographical informationYee Joe was born in about 1877 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1898. He was five feet eight and three quarter inches in height.

He worked as a cabinet maker with See Wah & Co Furniture Factory, West Perth, in 1915. In 1916 he was recorded as a greengrocer and hawker at Claremont and living in Redfern Street, Subiaco. He moved to Sydney in 1918 (B).
