Biographical informationWong Yum was born in about 1871 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1897. He was five feet seven inches in height.
He worked as a cabinet maker at One Jack's Furniture Factory, Newcastle Street, Perth [J. W. Wing], in 1911 (E). He was then employed in the See Wah & Co. Factory, Railway Parade, West Perth, in 1916 (B). In 1934 his occupation was recorded as cook (E).
He travelled overseas six times: December 1903 to June 1905; January 1912 to May 1914; February 1916 to October 1917; September 1918 to October 1920; February 1927 to June 1928; and March 1934 to November 1935.
