Biographical informationWong Yen was born in January 1871 in Canton, China. He migrated to Victoria in 1896 and moved to Western Australia in 1901. He was five feet six inches in height.
He worked as a market gardener at Midland Junction in 1916. He moved to the Hi Lory market garden, Bibra Lake, in 1918.
In June 1918 he was fined 20 shillings for 'Being Found in a Gaming House' and £10 for 'Smoking Opium'.
