Biographical informationImported from Singapore to work for Alexander Moir at Fanny's Cove, Albany, in February 1881. Wong A Chi eventually left Moir's service after absconding several times. He was employed by the Resident Magistrate to clear scrub and trees around the Quarantine Station at Albany and was provided with lodgings by John McKail. In April 1881 he absconded from the working party and was recaptured the next day. He was cautioned. In June 1882 he was charged with 'Being a Rogue and a Vagabond' after he was found nearly starving in a deserted house two miles from Albany. He was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.
