Biographical informationSun Lock was born in September 1865 in Swatow [Shantou], China. He migrated to Western Australia in April 1889.
In 1902 he was living at 262 Roe Street, Perth. Emily Wilmott used to visit the house.
He worked as a market gardener for R. Clayton, Broomehill, in 1916 (B) and had a garden at Dighton's in Broomehill. Re was in Broomehill for five or six years. Jimmy Ah Sing also worked for him for around 8 months at Broomehill. He employed Ah Sam (4) in 1918.
Sun Lock lived with Emily Wilmot for two years in Broomehill. In 1921, Julia Ah Ping travelled to Broomehill with Sun Lock. The two lived together in Broomehill and Emily Wilmott moved out. Julia Ah Ping died in 1921 and two years later Emily Wilmott returned to live with Sun Lock. They were married in 1928.
