Biographical informationSing Hay was born in July 1878 in Canton, China. He migrated to Melbourne, Victoria in 1898 and moved to Western Australia in 1903.
In 1916 he moved to Geraldton and worked as a market gardener for 12 months. Between 1917 and 1921 he worked as a cook and market gardener at Perth, Carnarvon, Fremantle, Broome, Port Hedland and Geraldton.
