Biographical informationSin Cho Chi (孫石只) was born in about 1855 in Chan An, China (泉安縣). He migrated to Western Australia in March 1890.
He was recruited in Singapore to work as a general servant under contract to Frederick Wells, Millstream, Roebourne, for two years at £1 8s 6d per month.
On 17 September 1891, he murdered George Fairhead and hid in the bush for two months before being found and arrested. He was charged at Roebourne with murder. At his trial, Seah Oh Chooey made a statement that he had known Sin Cho Chi as a boy in China and that he was very quarrelsome.
