Biographical informationMow Shing was born in July 1861 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1892.

He worked as a market gardener on Wah Soon's market garden, Osborne Park, in 1916. He moved to Sam Sing's market garden, Charles Street, North Perth, in 1917 then to a market garden in Redan Street, Leederville, in 1918.
