Biographical informationMah Hem was born in about 1867 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1897. He was about five feet four inches in height.
He was working as a cook in 1907. In 1916 he worked as a market gardener at Mounts Bay Road. He worked on Gallop's market garden, Nedlands, in 1918.
He travelled overseas three times: September 1907 to May 1909; April 1916 to May 1917; and February 1930 to January 1938 (travel extension granted).
