Biographical informationLow Choy How (aka Loy Choy How) was born in about 1868 in Canton, China. He was four feet ten inches in height. He migrated to Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia and lived there from 1885 to 1897. He then spent four years in Burrundie, four years in Yam Creek before moving to Western Australia in 1906.
He was employed as a cook and waiter at the Wyndham Hotel in 1906 to 1908 and as a cook at Carlton Station in 1909.
He returned to Darwin in 1910 and remained there until 1917 when he travelled overseas. On his return in 1918 he went back to Wyndham, Western Australia and worked as a cook again (B). From 1919 to 1922 he was working as a cook at Flora Valley Station, near Hall's Creek, Western Australia.
In 1922 he returned to Northern Territory and worked as a cook at Nicholson Station where he remained until 1939.
