Biographical informationLion a Hoang (aka Liom Ah Phong) (林亞壺) was born in 1862 in Bun Sio, Hailam [Hainan Island], China (文昌縣). He migrated to Western Australia per SS Australind on 27th August 1887.

He was recruited in Singapore to work as a general servant under contract to McRae and Stonehouse, location unrecorded [but likely to be Cossack], for two years at $12 per month.
