He was employed at the telegraph construction camp at Louisa River, Derby, by William Atkins in 1888.
For several weeks Lin Ah Chung complained of feeling 'weak'. He died on 3 November 1888. He was buried, with all his effects, at the construction camp by two other Chinese men employed by Atkins: Ah Lick and Ah Chun (C).
