Biographical informationLim A Tek (1) (林亞德) was born in about 1853 in Chin Pho (Hokkien), China (漳浦縣). He migrated to Western Australia in May 1890 (or 1888?).

He was recruited in Singapore to work as a general station hand under contract to W. D. Moore & Co., Derby, for three years at S$8 per month.
