Biographical informationLee Chong (5) was born in January 1880 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in June 1898. He was nearly five feet three inches in height.

He worked as a laundryman at the Ginn Brothers Laundry, 957 Hay Street, Perth, in 1916 (B). In 1927 he took over the business and it become the Chong Lee Laundry. He operated this and another laundry at 62 Pakenham Street, Fremantle (formerly the Hong Wah Laundry) until 1936. From 1936 to 1949 he only operated the 957 Hay Street, Perth branch (P.O. Directory entries).
