Biographical informationKing Ngee (aka CHEN Kin Gee) was born in July 1849 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in July 1879.
He worked as a herbalist at the Bow On Hong herbalist store, 129 James Street, Perth, in 1916 (B). He was the President of the Chung Wah Association from 1918 to 1921.
He died in 1924 (BDM 1924/1571) and was buried in Karrakatta Cemetery (Church of Christ BA 0174).
The National Archives of Australia holds a file of him (PP14/3, CHINESE/NGEE K) that includes his Application Form for Registration as Alien.
