Biographical informationKie Sing (經勝) was born in about 1858 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1882.
In June 1900 he applied for a certificate to return to the colony. He travelled to China per SS Sultan in July 1900. At this time he was described as 37 years old (which would make his birth year 1863 rather than 1858) and a gardener who leased a market garden from Mr Hardy in the Peninsular (Maylands). He sought an extension to his certificate in July 1901 which was granted. He returned to Australia in December 1901 on the SS Australind. (SRO, 1900/1229)
He worked as a market gardener in Peninsula Road, Maylands, in 1916.
