Biographical informationKie Kit (aka Kie Ket) was born in about 1865 in Canton, China. He was the younger brother of Kie Hang. He migrated to Western Australia in 1896/7. He was five feet seven inches in height.
In 1900 he was a market gardener and part owned a garden in Cowle Street, West Perth. He was partners with his brother Kie Hang and Ah Soon. Their garden was leased from Mr Gallop.
Kie Kit applied for a Certificate to Return to the Colony in 1900 and this was extended for a further 12 months from June 1901. At the time of his application, correspondence was sent to Hie Toy & Co. suggesting he may have worked for the company.
