Biographical informationHam Tigh was born in about 1880 in Canton, China. He migrated to Australia in 1900 and lived in Sydney, New South Wales until he moved to Western Australia in 1902. He was five feet six and three quarter inches in height.
In 1902 he went to work in E. Cooper's furniture factory, James Street, Perth, as a cabinet maker. He travelled overseas between September 1911 and October 1913. On his return to Australia, he probably resided in the Eastern States as there is no record of his residence in Western Australia until 1926 when he applied for a CEDT. He then gave his occupation as market gardener.
He was away from Western Australia between February 1927 and June 1928 (E). In 1948 he applied for permission for his wife, NGOOK Lam, to enter Western Australia for five years (G). She was given a permit.
