Biographical informationFook William was born in October 1874 in Manila, Philippines. He migrated to Western Australia in July 1894.
He worked as a cook residing with Wong King and working at his boarding house in Fitzgerald Street, Geraldton, in 1916 (B).
In 1817 he was a cook at the Geraldton Hotel (Geraldton Guardian 21st August 1917, pg 2), when he was shot at by Louise Daniels at the hotel. The incident occurred soon after a conversation with her over his reporting of a rival chef, Yen You Charlie, for opium smoking.
