Biographical informationFoo Kong John was born in January 1863 in Hankow, China. He migrated to Western Australia in February 1887. He was five feet one inches in height.

He worked as a cook at Broome in 1912 and at Sharks Bay in 1917 (E). When he visited Perth he stayed at the King Hai Club in Marquis Street, West Perth (B).
