Biographical informationFong Daniel was born in July 1881 in Canton, China, son of Fong Hong and Yee Shee. He migrated to Western Australia in 1898. He was five feet two inches in height.
He worked as a shop assistant at Fremantle in 1910 (E). He then worked as a shop assistant at Broome and Roebourne from at least 1915 to 1921. In Broome he worked for Jock Sign (B).
He travelled overseas twice: November 1910 to February 1911; and June 1915 to November 1916 (D).
