Biographical informationCooey Dick was born in about 1871 in Kin chu, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1892. He was five feet one inch in height.

He worked as a cook at Broome in 1916. He worked at Derby for six months in 1919. On his return to Broome he worked on Streeter's Station as a cook.
