Biographical informationChung Hi Nip (aka Chung Hip) was born in August 1863 in Canton, China. He migrated to Australia in 1885 and moved to Western Australia in May 1899. He was five feet eight and half inches in height.

He worked as an accountant at Perth (location unstated) in 1909 and an accountant in Murray Street, Perth, in 1912 (E). In 1916 he was recorded as a carpenter residing at 14 Barclay Street, West Perth (B).

He travelled overseas twice: June 1909 to June 1911; and April 1917 to August 1918. Chung Hi Nip applied for a CEDT in 1912 but it was withheld.
