Biographical informationChing Chew (aka Ching Shu) was born in about 1868 in Hikow, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1888. He was five feet five inches in height.

He worked as a cook at Port Hedland in 1908 (E). In 1917 he was employed as a fireman on the 'Minderoo'.
