CHING AH CHONG

Biographical informationChing Ah Chong was born on the 7th April 1874 in Singapore. He migrated to Western Australia in September 1901. He was five feet and eight inches in height.

From December 1904 he worked as a carpenter at Broome (B) for Mr Patrick Percy (pearler). He remained in the employment of Mr Percy for more than 30 years. He worked as an indentured labourer from 1901 to 1919 and then as a "free man" afterwards.

He travelled overseas twice: October 1922 to September 1923; and September 1926 to June 1927. He left Western Australia permanently in January 1932 (D).Other nameChing Ah Chong (differentiated name)Date of birth7th April 1874
