Biographical informationChing Ah Chong was born on the 7th April 1874 in Singapore. He migrated to Western Australia in September 1901. He was five feet and eight inches in height.
From December 1904 he worked as a carpenter at Broome (B) for Mr Patrick Percy (pearler). He remained in the employment of Mr Percy for more than 30 years. He worked as an indentured labourer from 1901 to 1919 and then as a "free man" afterwards.
