He was recruited in Singapore to work under contract to Edward Read Parker, Boonmul, York. He had been at Boonmul only a few days when he attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat. Lo Ah Inn was a witness. A hearing took place at York Police Court on 6 July 1891. Si Poo was interpreter. He was sentenced to be tried in the Supreme Court, Perth.
