Biographical informationChin Ching You was born in April 1877 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in May 1896. He was five feet four and a half inches in height.

He worked as a tailor at Roebourne from at least 1909 to 1925, except between 1915 and 1917 when he worked in Carnarvon Street, Broome (E).

He travelled overseas three times: October 1909 to March 1911; February 1914 to June 1915; and October 1919 to January 1922.
