Biographical informationChen Ying was born in about 1867 in China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1889. He was five feet five and half inches in height.

He was working as a laundryman when he applied visit China to see his family in 1897. He leased a market garden at South Fremantle in 1902 (A). He was recorded as a laundryman at Claremont in 1909 (E).

He travelled overseas from November 1909 to June 1910.
