He worked as a laundryman at Ying Cheong Laundry, 70 Melbourne Road, Perth, in 1916. He moved to the Sing Cheong Laundry, Fremantle Road, Cottesloe, in May 1919 and Sing Kee's Laundry at 97 South Terrace, Fremantle, in October 1919.
