Biographical informationAssan Charlie was born in about 1857 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1897.
He worked as a cook at Ah Lim's boarding house, Fitzgerald Street, Geraldton, in 1917.
He worked on Beringarra Station, Yalgoo, for six months in 1918 before moving to Edah Station, Yalgoo. He returned to Geraldton in December 1918 and worked for Hop Lee.
