Biographical informationAh Yow (2) was employed by John Barnard, Gascoyne, in 1884. He was sentenced to two months imprisonment for assault in 1884 or 1885.
Whilst in jail it was reported that Ah Yow was found to be suffering from leprosy and it was recommended that he be returned to Singapore. Ah Yow, however, was released from jail and was ostracised by other Chinese ("they refused to have anything to do with him") and was unable to find work.
