He worked as a market gardener at Osborne Park in 1916. He worked for Chen Wing at Bibra Lake in June 1917 until 1919 when he moved to Ah Soon's market garden in South Perth.
In June 1919. Ah Young worked for You Lee at Bruce Street, North Fremantle, then for four months the Hi Lory market garden, Bibra Lake.
