Biographical informationAh You (9) was born in about 1874 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1896. He was over five feet and five inches in height.

He worked as a shop keeper from at least 1910 to 1925. He worked at 28 Henry Street, Fremantle, in 1916 and for Hong Wah at 64 Pakenham Street, Fremantle, in 1921. In 1922 he worked for Hong Warley at 224 High Street, Fremantle (B).
