In 1896 Ah Woon was employed as a grass cutter in Roebourne. He and Leon King sued Henry Gillam, manager of H.W. Sholl & Co., Roebourne, for £4 and £5 respectively for Wages due. Gillam sought to sue them in return for £4 for breach of agreement in their unlawfully absenting themselves from his service. Ah Woon was awarded £1 9s 4d.
