AH WAH Willie

Description

Biographical informationAh Wah Willie (aka Hing Wah Willie) was born in January 1886 in Canton, China.

He was living in Marble Bar in March 1910 when he was assaulted by a "Manilaman" with a crowbar who broke his left thigh (Wester Mail 19th March 1910, pg 17). He was still in Marble Bar in 1914 when he was sued by the Government Hospital for hospital fees due (Pilbarra Goldfield News 8th September 1914, pg 3).

He was working as a cook and baker at Marble Bar in 1916. He moved to Port Hedland in 1917 and rented the bakery shop formerly occupied by N.S, Mauger. He sold bakery, confectionery, soft drinks, fruit and vegetables (B).
