Biographical informationAh Sin (2) (aka Ah Sing) was born in about 1863 in China (exact location not specified). He migrated to Western Australia in about 1883 and worked as a labourer at Champion Bay, Geraldton.
Ah Sin was working at Milark's Farm, along Eastern Road, Geraldton in 1898. He became sick and on 28 June 1898 he was taken for examination at Geraldton hospital by Dr Elliot. He was found to be suffering from leprosy.
He was transferred by boat from Geraldton to the Leper House at Woodman's Point south of Fremantle, where he was admitted on 4th July 1898 (C) and it was found that his main ailment was an old injury to his foot. Despite the doctor stating on the 21st of July that he was treating Ah Sin (2) for an old complaint and that he was "far from being dead" and that he was even "unsure that he was suffering from leprosy", Ah Sin (2) died on the 28th July 1898 and his body was cremated.Other nameAh Sin (differentiated name)Ah Sing (also known as)Date of birth1863Date of death1898
