Biographical informationAh On Charlie (2) was born in about 1871 in Hong Kong. He migrated to Western Australia in January 1897, leaving a wife and two sons in China. He was five feet and six inches in height.

In 1899 he was staying with Sam Shing in Barrack Street, Perth.

He worked as a greengrocer and fruiterer in the firm T. Lee, at Northam before travelling overseas. He applied for an extension to his CEDT from China in June 1899 (C). On his return to Western Australia he leased a shop in St Georges Terrace, Perth.

He travelled overseas again between November 1903 and July 1905 (A) (although his stated aged then was 47, suggesting a date of birth around 1856, and the date of arrival in Australia was given as 1877.
