Biographical informationAh Mow Charlie was born in January 1882 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1899.
He worked as a market gardener at Wing On's market garden, Bourke Street, Leederville, in 1916.
In 1918, he worked as a cook at 12 Barclay Street, West Perth, before cooking on Kirkalocka Station, Mount Magnet, in 1920 for two months.
Did laundry work at Hop Lee's laundry in Geraldton before returning to Perth 1921 to work for Yip Sing, Loftus Street, Leederville. Yip Sing described Ah Mow as a 'lazy worker'.
