Biographical informationAh Loy (11) was born May 1888 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1898. He was five feet and five inches in height.
He worked as a market gardener at Perth in 1910. It is not known when he left WA but he returned from Tasmania in June 1917 and worked for Ah Sam at Bayswater.
He spent four months in Melbourne as a cabinetmaker for Wah Tung furniture factory between January and May 1918.
He returned to Ah Sam's garden at Bayswater in May 1918 and worked there until June 1919 when he moved to Guildford. In March 1920 he started work on Jack Lee's garden at Kalamunda.
