Biographical informationAh Lip was born in about 1873 in Hong Kong. He migrated to Western Australia in 1897.

He was employed in mid-1897 by Mr Brown at Helena Vale, near Midland Junction, as a gardener. He travelled overseas in January 1899. He requested a 6 months extension on his CEDT through Soong Quong Paul and it was granted. He returned to Western Australia on 20th June 1900 per "SS Sultan" (C).
