Biographical informationAh Ling (3) (aka Yee Ling) was born in about 1865 in Canton, China. He migrated to Australia in 1881 and lived in Victoria and South Australia where he was naturalised. He moved to Western Australia in 1884. He was just over five feet three and a half inches in height.
He was in partnership with Thomas Yett in Wah Sing & Co, general store and dealer at Cossack from 1884 to ?1905. Applied for naturalisation in Western Australia in June 1892 but the application was refused as Ah Ling was already naturalised in South Australia.
In 1905, Ah Ling was recorded as a storekeeper in Broome. In 1913 and 1916 (E) he was recorded as a shop assistant in Napier Street, Broome.
He moved to Roebourne in 1917 and worked as a cook. In 1919 he was employed as a cook at Carnarvon (B).
