Biographical informationAh Kan was born in about 1863 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1887. He was five feet seven and a half inches in height.
He worked as a gardener before leaving Western Australia in January 1916. On his return in September 1917, Ah Kan stayed at Hee Kee's shop, 8 South Terrace, Fremantle and gave his occupation as shopkeeper.
Two months later he went to work as a gardener on Soon Hop's market garden in Curtis Street, Osborne Park.
