Biographical informationAh Hoy (4) was born in about 1881 in Canton, China. He migrated to Western Australia in 1901. He was just over six feet and seven inches in height (6 feet six and a half in later life).
He worked as a market gardener at Lockridge, Guildford, before travelling overseas in August 1907 (D). On his return in September 1908, he resumed work on the Lockridge market garden until 1915 when he moved to North Fremantle (E). In 1918. Ah Hoy was market gardening at Joel Terrace, Mount Lawley, and, in 1925, on a market garden in Suburban Road, South Perth (B).
