Biographical informationAh Hie was born in China in about 1859. The date of his migration to Western Australia needs further research. He was the brother of Ah Lee (14).
He worked as a market gardener in South Perth in the 1880s.
He drowned whilst trying to cross the Swan River between Barrack Street and South Perth in a small boat with his brother Ah Lee (14) on 24 November 1887 (Inquest reported in Police Gazette, 1887 page 212). He was about 28 years old when he died.
