Biographical informationAh Han (2) (aka Ah Hing) was employed by Mrs Commerford, Geraldton, in 1895, cutting firewood and cleaning in return for food, clothing and a little wages. In December 1895, Ah Han was jailed for vagrancy when it was found that he was living with an Aboriginal community in Geraldton. As Ah Han could not communicate in English or Chinese dialects known in Geraldton, it was assumed that he was of 'weak intellect'.
