He emigrated first to Victoria and them emigrated to Western Australia on 12 September 1897.He was naturalized in 1885. Both his brothers lived in Victoria.
In 1901 his address was 11 Dyer Street, Perth. He had two market gardens. From c. 1897 he leased a garden from William Henry Stubberfield and and he also leased another from Townley Gillett since c. 1898.
In August 1901 he travelled to China, returning to Western Australia in November 1902 (A). Sang Li and Li Shing came across from Victoria to care for Ah H Kay's gardens during his visit to China.
