Biographical informationAh Dow Maria was born in 1877 in Australia. Her WW1 registration papers say she was born in "Howden, South Australia", however there is no recorded place named Howden in South Australia. There is a Howden in Tasmania, perhaps her birthplace was incorrectly transcribed.

She was married to Ah Dow and became 'Chinese by marriage' which suggest that she was not Chinese by birth. She was five feet six inches in height.

She lived at Bibra Lake in 1916, Raleigh Avenue [now Passmore Avenue], North Fremantle in 1918 and Swan Street, North Fremantle in 1919. Her occupation was given as housewife (B).
