Biographical informationAh Chong (9) was born on the 27th November 1877 in Canton, China. He migrated to New South Wales in 1898, but moved to Western Australia after just six or seven months. He was five feet and five inches in height.
He was a market gardener. From 1900 to 1910 he worked for two years at a market garden in Osborne Park, then two years in West Perth, then three years in Mount Lawley. In 1910 he was working as a market gardener at Osborne Park. He was in Peninsula Road, Maylands from 1911 to early 1918 (E). At that time he was residing at 124 James Street, Perth. He moved to a garden in Charles Street, North Perth in 1918 (B). In 1927 he was still gardening in Charles Street and now residing at 255 Charles Street, North Perth.
